Post-screening discussion

Bryn Mawr United Students Against Sweatshops will be screening the documentary The True Cost in recognition of Earth Day as well as the three-year anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh.

The True Cost is a story about clothing. It’s about the clothes we wear, the people who make them and the impact it’s having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking new documentary film that pulls back the curtain on an often ignored part of our world and asks us each to consider, who pays the price for our clothing?

After the screening, there will be a discussion on what Bryn Mawr can do to stand up against sweatshops and the toll they take on the world environmentally as well as morally.

Event open to the Tri-County community.
