RISD Apparel, EmPOWER and Fashion at Brown present The True Cost

FREE and open to the public

Join EmPower, RISD Apparel and Fashion at Brown for RISD's Inaugural Fashion Revolution, from 6 to 9 PM for a program of events surrounding sustainability in fashion and to raise awareness about the true price of inexpensive garments. Two documentary films will be screened: Unravel and The True Cost. With commentary on Indian rag pickers from Meg DeCubellis, senior critic in Apparel Design, and a look at the work of student Chris Mena 16 AP. We will start the night off with a screening of the documentary Unravel, then move forward with a faculty discussion and collection presentation, and finish the evening with the screening of the documentary The True Cost. The event will be held at the RISD Chace Center.
