The Peabody Essex Museum is hosting many activities for Sustainable Fashion Day, including a screening of the documentary The True Cost at 2:30pm. This film is a groundbreaking investigation of fast fashion, revealing that while the price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically.

Petra Slinkard, PEM’s Nancy B. Putnam Curator of Fashion and Textiles, introduces the film and hosts a discussion and Q&A with ethical fashion expert Kate Black following the screening.
