Moritz Feed Dog presents The True Cost

Sunday, March 13, 2016, 5:45pm (17:45)
Aribau Club Cinema, Barcelona, Spain
Tickets: €6.50

When a prêt-à-porter dress from Hedi Slimane’s first collection for Saint Laurent sold in stores for €68.000, the figure hit the headlines. When any of us buys a T-shirt for €2.99 it should have the same effect. Something pretty grim has to have transpired in the production chain for this T-shirt to cost barely more than a subway ticket, The catastrophe at Rana Plaza, the Bangladesh garment factory that collapsed in 2013, causing more than 1.100 deaths, made it impossible to keep turning a blind eye to the situation. And although “everyone knows it”, someone’s got to tell like it is. Andrew Morgan visited more than 13 countries (and was met at gunpoint in one of them) to make a true piece of muckraking, and rummage around in the garbage of a diabolical system.

Moritz Feed Dog is the first Documentary Film Festival about Fashion, Culture & City in Spain.
